Super EASY Crochet Ear Warmer

Here is a pattern for a SUPER easy ear warmer (head band.)  These are nice for a person like me, who likes the warmth of a hat when its cold, but I generally wear my mass of unruly hair tied back and hats don't really work for me.  These give me all the warmth of a hat while accommodating my hair.

They have a button hole on one end, and on the other end I just sew on one or two cute buttons, that way the size can be adjusted.

Chain 6
1: sc in 2nd chaine from hook, sc in next 4, ch 1 turn (5 st)
2: sc in first 2, ch 2, skip a stitch, sc in last 2, ch 2 turn
3-5: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn (5 st)
6: 2 sc in first stictch, 1 sc in next 3, 2 sc in last, ch 2 turn (7 st)
7-9: dc in each stitch across, ch 2 turn (7 st)
10: 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next 5, 2 sc in last, ch 2 turn (9 st)
11-13: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn (9 st)
14: 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next 7, 2 sc in last, ch 2, turn (11 st)
15-17: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn (11 st)
18: 2 sc in first stitch, 1 sc in next 9, 2 sc in last, ch 2, turn (13 st)
19-21: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn (13 st)
(you can now create another 3 rows of dc if you choose, or you can begin decreasing)
22: sc 2tog, 1 sc in next 11, sc 2tog, ch 2, turn
23-25: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn
26: sc 2tog, 1 sc in next 9, sc 2tog, ch 2 turn
27-29: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn
30: sc 2tog, 1 sc in next 7, sc 2tog, ch 2 turn,
31-33: dc in each stitch across, ch 2, turn
34: sc 2tog, 1 sc in next 5, sc 2tog, ch 2, turn

To finish: Add desired number of rows of sc to reach the length you want, then sc around the band to give it a uniform edge, or add your own decorative edge!  Add 1 or two buttons to make the band adjustable, embellish with your desired add on!

Possibilities are endless for cute add ons for these.  I'm not one for huge crochet flowers and such.  I found this cute little owl here.  I love, love, love this lady's little owl pattern.  Very simple but she has designed the pattern so you can make a very pretty owl.  I've used her owl on several projects including "arting" up my ugly purse!
