Autumn Moon - April 9

Longing for the autumn moon
To languish in her ethereal glow
Washing her light down upon the night
Earth’s eyes cast Heavenward from far below

Longing for the autumn moon
To whisper her secrets to the wind
And with a quiet gust about the land
A festive season comes ‘round again

Longing for the autumn moon
Strolling beneath her gaze in the fallen leaves
Regarding her in her midnight reverie
Listening to the night and the stories she weaves

Longing for the autumn moon
To awaken the wild feeling in my soul
Smiling quietly above my head
Painted upon her canvas black as coal
