So, this is my first attempt at a beanie. It came out pretty well, so I also made fingerless gloves to go with it. For the beanie, I used a free pattern which you can find here.
Now, I had a tad bit of trouble with it, it must be because of that dastardly gauge testing. Even though my gauge appears correct, from my understanding of how it works, my hats tend to work up funny. For instance, according to the pattern, when I had followed the instructions, I had a tiny little yamaka when finished which was decidedly not what I was going for. However, I just kept going in rounds, alternating double and triple crochets, switching colors for the last few rows, and voila, it came out pretty nice!
I then worked up these cute little fingerless gloves which are super warm and cozy, but don't hinder whatever activity you're trying to engage in! These little lovelies are my own pattern, and you can find it here.
I topped off this project with a simple sweet flower for the hat made from another easy pattern that you can find here. Very cute and attractive little flower that can be used a billion different ways. Please stay tuned for another DIY blog I have in store for a project using these cute flowers!
Happy crocheting!
